Latest torrential rainfall has formed large and expanded water ponds on Kuwait's main roads. Those most affected with the incessant rain were Al-Ahmadi, Al-Fahaheel roads, Al-Mangaf tunnel and the seventh ring road.
Competent authorities are working round the clock to drain the swamped roads, reopen the rain-drenched streets, fully or partially, depending on damage extent.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains are forecast later on Thursday over northern and western regions of Kuwait, said Dherar Al-Ali, the head of the Meteorological Department of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in a statement to news agency.
The forecaster reported southeasterly winds exceeding 60 km/h, leading to sea waves higher than six feet. He renewed the appeal to citizens and residents to seek information from official sources and authorities.
