Euphoria is the experience of pleasure or excitement and intense feeling of well being and happiness. The Indian Community School Kuwait (Senior) proudly hosted ‘Euphoria Musical Fiesta’ which was organized by the South African Development Community (SADC) in Kuwait on 1st October 2018, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa.
The Ambassador of South Africa, H.E. Mzolisa Bona, The Ambassador of Tanzania, H.E. Mahadhi Maalim, The Deputy Chief of Mission (Soth Africa), Ms Pule Bosilong, The Counsellor of the Kingdom of eSwatini (Swaziland), Mr Sfiso Dlamini, Administrator (Tanzania) Mr. Yusuf Abdallah, Secretary (Social) of South Africa, Ms Valerie Zarian, ICSK board members including Hon. Chairman Mr. Shaik Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Secretary Mr. Azharuddin Amer Mohammed and Dr. Aamir Ahmed graced the occasion.
The Ambassador of South Africa, H.E. Mzolisa Bona was warmly welcomed by the Principal Dr V. Binumon and was presented a bouquet as a token of love from the school. The Ambassador gave a beautiful welcome address and quoted, “In every adult is a child” and remembered his childhood days. He also invited the students and teachers to visit the Art and Culture Museum to take a view of the beautiful antiques and handicrafts present there that speak greatly for themselves about the past of Africa. He also spoke about the nurturing and growth of creative industries in Africa as well as in India. He personally believed that this music fiesta would touch our hearts and souls. The band SADC played beautiful songs conveying the message ‘Strive for peace’, ‘love’ and ‘happiness’.
Indian Community School Kuwait’s Honorary Chairman, Mr. Shaikh Abdul Rahman gifted a portrait of Nelson Mandela crafted by the school’s art department to the Ambassadors of South Africa and Tanzania who were representing SADC to bolster the ties between Incredible India and Awesome South Africa. This was to mark 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Vice Principal Dr Sam T. Kuruvilla gave the vote of thanks. The campus was vibrant with the positive energy created by the event.
