Now, No work permits for expats with poor academic grades

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

The manpower authority is planning to ban issuing permits to expats with university degrees entering Kuwait to work in the private sector unless they have a minimum of ‘good’ GPA. The local Arabic daily Al-Rai newspaper reported that Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) will not issue work permits for university graduates in the private sector in Kuwait, unless they hold a minimum, of ‘good’ academic grades.

According to local media report, the government is currently taking several steps towards resolving Kuwait’s demographic imbalance and restructuring the local labor market, including plans to endorse and accredit expats’ degrees as a precondition to renewing their residency visas.

The sources said this step will help adjust demographic problems and make sure that only highly specialized and skilled people work in Kuwait.

The report added that an organizational decisions will be issued in the coming months to fight visa trafficking and prevent unqualified labor from coming to Kuwait.

Good idea to recruit people with high GPA.. But what about their salary ? Why don''t you set some standards of minimum salary for high grade graduates ?

People,
Sure lack of schooling or bad grades cannot and should not be held against the merit of a person.

However, let me stress and repeat my earlier statement FOR SOME PROFESSIONS, this is really a good move.

No one is asking for grades for a carpenter or plumber. so stop bullshitting and dilute the point in discussion. They are skilled jobs.
First get the difference.

Guys how can we evaluate a persons knowledge on basis of his grade?? You may all know Sunder Pichai - CEO of Google, He himself admits that his class 12th score was not enough to get into Shri Ram College of Commerce.. So do you think that Founder of Google Larry & Sergey have not seen his complete profile before appointing him.. LOL.
There are so many other ways to resolve demographic imbalance, first stop issuing new VISAS to any nationality. Let the companies in public and private sector find manpower locally.. will this work?

Guys, fellows with just degree pass with may be 40% are millionaires and are chairman / MD / CEO under whom PhD holders and varsity rank holders are slogging for pittance so that these grads so called owners fill their bank accounts with cash and help them start more companies and hire more educated lots !! There are a few who are school class 10 failures or PUC failures....This is reality folks. Can they be removed????? no way. Ha ha ha

once you are a university degree holder means a graduate, how can you evaluate further depth of his knowledge ? in distant future even a CARPENTER / PLUMBER / ELECTRICIAN in the private sector has to be a university graduate with 99% marksheet !!! heehee..what an idea sirji
