Kuwait Tamilosai Poets Association (KTPA) organized a Grand IFTAR Banquet in their 146th Literary Monthly meeting on 01/06/2018,Friday Evening at The Royal Auditorium,Block-4,Mangaf,Kuwait.The Iftar program commenced with the recitation of sacred verses from Holy Quran by Poet Vittukatti Masthan at 5:30pm.
KTPA’s General Secretary-Poet Pattukkottai Sathyan anchored the happenings. The founder-President of Senthmizh Kalai Mandram-Kuwait, Mr.Rajasekar addressed a well wishing note on the endeavors of KTPA in promoting communal harmony with their tireless efforts and expressed his Ramadan wishes to all. Sheikh Ali Firdousi B.A.,(Principal, Kayalpattinam Daawa centre,Tamilnadu,India-One of the chief guest of IGC,Kuwait for the Holy Month of Ramadan) participated as a special invitee, delivered the keynote address in the first session, emphasizing peace and communal harmony among the society. He was felicitated with a memorial gift on behalf of KTPA. A large number of attendees including Members of Fellow Associations, Businessmen, Patrons from various walks of life broke the fasting with the banquet served, after hearing the Adan of Magrib Prayer.
The arrangements were well-organized by the team guided by KTPA’s office bearers and members including Deputy Secretary Mr.Mannai Raja, Poet U.K.Sivakumar ,Mr.Selvam-KGL,Folk singer Mr.Pandi and Team.
The Second sitting in the function was KTPA’s 146th special monthly meeting. It was started at 8 pm in the hall named as “ Tamil Scholar A.Arivoli-Writer Balakumaran memorial Hall” to commemorate the recently deceased renowned Tamil Literary Celebrities.”Pannool Paavalar” Poet-Writer Mr.Vidhyasagar presided over this session keeping Senior poet-Founder of ‘Deiva Sekkizhar Peravai-Kuwait’Mr.Kavisae Sekar as the frontstager on the dais.
Tamilosai’s Theme song was sung by the President Mr.Robert after delivering the welcome address for the meet. A minute of silence was observed as a homage to the recently demised Tami Icon-Prof.M.Lenin Thankappa,after remembering his valuable services rendered for Tamil Literature and Culture. A splendid mind provoking seminar in Tamil entitled as “Maasupaattai Maruthalippom!”which means ‘Let us Abolish Pollution!’was conducted during the meet (to mark the celebration of “Global Environmental Day”-June,5th ) shone as the highlight.
Poet-Eng.Hameed explained about Curbing Land pollution, Social Activist Mr.Vallam Abbas on Water Pollution and HSE Eng.B.Sekar on Air Pollution,enthralled the Audience in total.
Poets Mr.Pattukkottai Balu and Mrs.Sabura Hameed recited poems on “Parents: An analogy with oceans” and “Ramadan-The Month of Charity!” respectively. Mrs.Manjula Duraisami and Mr.Murugavel offered heart-throbbing Islamic devotional songs. KTPA’s Honorary President Poet S.Sadhik Batcha delivered a scintillating note on Glory of fasting in Ramadan “Dheenpukazh Nonbin Vaanpukazh Maanpukal!” Mr.Vetriyoor G.M.Anbarasan and Makizhan shared their pleasant experiences with KTPA’s Association. Finally,Poet Masthan delivered the vote of thanks for the program, which concluded with registering sweet memories by 10pm.
