SIS thematises “Wash off plastics”

Bhavan’s SIS had its invigorating time in remembering the world’s largest Environmental movement, “Earth day” through the awe-inspiring activities done by all the students to voice out the motto of this year’s theme, “To End plastic pollution” on 26th April 2018. This day was proposed and executed to be the day of education, celebration and action for the natural world that we live in. The sustainable environment that is gradually being diminished at the cost of our failure to curtail the use of plastics in our day-to-day living had been the subject to ponder behind this day of observance.

To ensure a reliable ambience and to make this world a better place to live, the stupendous students of our school had come out with flying colors through the marvelous creation of activities such as the reusable paper bags by Grade 2, intellectual empowerment in the form of Quiz on “Earth Day” by students of Grades 3 to 5 and the Middle & Secondary came out with their own distinct ideas of creating a chart that represented “The ten ways to protect Mother Earth” and the extraordinary production of handbags out of used T-Shirts. All that had been created amassed a great admiration among the teachers and students. A video session was arranged for the students to get aware of the potential peril that is at hand to the wondrous diversity if it had not been given a proper room for sustenance. Thus the 48th anniversary of “Earth Day” saw its vanguard among students through the several display of activities. The School thanked the Principal, Mr. Mahesh Iyer for his relentless support in making this day possible.
