Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah AlSabah rejected a proposal calling to set up a higher committee to supervise the issuance and renewal of driving licenses of expatriates.

In a response to the proposal by MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei, the minister said the committee will complicate the procedures for issuing driving licenses to millions of foreigners in the country.

He added that issuance of driving licenses to expatriates is governed by a set of ministerial decisions issued to regulate the procedures.

Habib Tuesday, April 24, 2018 Liyakat "KALA''...Buri nazar wale..Teri mooh KALA.. People like you requesting to cancel all licences issued after 2010. So people like me requesting here to cancel all driving licences issued before 2010. Because most of the driving licences issued before 2010 or back is with fake certificates and without any valid qualification or issued by wasta. I believe after strict rules raised, departments double checks the minimum eligibility to issue driving licences with proper channel . No place for wasta.. I think Liakat "KALA" also took it before 2010 with WASTA game.

Indian Monday, April 23, 2018 @Liyakat. I was about to request for cancellation of all licenses issued before 2010 as they took them without any pre-conditions and that would really ease traffic congestion.

Rahmat Sunday, April 22, 2018 A very wise and bold decision taken by the minister. Forming a committee incurs costs and the results may not be tangible. Furthermore the committee in order to justify its formation may complicate the matters and make things worse to the expats. It would also indicate incapacity of the set of ministerial procedures or decisions.
