Companies and factories can construct houses for their workers within the industrial areas where they operate. According to report, the companies need to get required permit from Kuwait Municipality to authorize the workers’ accommodations.

Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalid Al-Roudhan issued a decision to lay down rules and regulations governing the allocation of sites for services in industrial areas for stores, truck parking lots or accommodation for workers, local media reported.

According to report, the period of allocation will be temporary not exceeding a duration of three years and renewable and open to extension depending on evaluation of the Public Authority for Industry.

On expiry of the period of allocation, the applicant should vacate the location, clean the place and remove the facilities within two months from the date of expiration then return it to the authority. The temporary allocation cannot be transformed to a permanent one.
