Mega colorful event concluded with large crowd participation

Malabar Mahostavam’s 7th edition concluded with much enthusiasm and vigor. The trade mark program of Kozhikode District NRI association was highly successful in terms of people’s participation and in terms of the creative items which was presented in form of dance and songs. It was a full day program filled with joy for families to share and for kids to play on. All were really impressed with setup erected at Central School open auditorium in Abbaisya. The food courts with traditional culinary and the dress stalls all created a festive mood to enjoy with.

The inauguration program started with the traditional lightning of the lamp by famous film director Vinayan. In his inaugural speech he appreciated the efforts of organizers for replicating thehigh tradition of Malabar with its traditional art forms, food patterns etc. He praised the noble efforts of the KDNA which extends helping hand to the poor and needy, and he mentioned that this is the trait which is missing from modern time community. One have to stand for the causes with steadfastness as he himself is a victim in Malayalam Industry for rising voice against the injustice & for standing for less privileged.

KDNA president KrishnanKandaundi presided over the function. Organizing committee chairman Aziz Thikkodi briefed about Malabar Mahostavam. General Convener Shijith Extended welcome speech. General Secretary Ubaid CK presented the KDNA activities. Shifa Aljazeera General Manager Zubair, TVS Cargo MD Hyder, BEC Exchange GM Mathew Varghese made felicitation speeches. A landmark souvenir, with rich creative content inside was released by chief guest Vinayan to editor Dharmaraj Madappalli. Treasurer Mohd Ali Arakkal rendered vote of thanks. Awards were provided for high-academic excellent students of KDNA family who excelled in their Xth and Plus Two examsby the dignitaries.

Earlier in the morning ribbon Cutting to the Venue done by Chief Guest Director Vinayan and felicitated by Cultural Secretary Suhesh Kumar, Joint Convenor Santhosh Raj, Area Representatives Ummer AC, Jayaprakash, shibin Patteri, and Ladies wing Chief Sandhya Shijith. Innovative competitions were held in painting, “Thiruvathirakkali”, and Mammy and Me items. KDNA women’s wing under its president Sandhya Shijith spearheaded these items.

Ghazal in the afternoon led by Rafi Kallayi and Sameer Vellayil was another hall mark of the event which was appreciated by the audience.

After culmination of the inaugural event scintillating performance of “Oppana” by kids, and then “kolkali” in its original form was followed.

The eventful day is then followed by remarkable Theme dance incorporating all dance forms from different states of India ending with national integration message directed by ManojKappad.

The artists arrived from Kerala enthralled the audience with their numbers. The famous singers Aslam, Shafi Kollam, Aparna Rajeev and Rekha were outstanding in their renders. They have captivated the audience with subtle and dynamic singing. Arun Ginnus brought variety to the program with his mimicry skills.

Many mementos and certificates were distributed during the event by dignitaries and KDNA office bearers Basheer Batha, Shoukath Ali, Suresh Mathur, MM Zubair, Santhosh Punathil etc for those who have won the competitions and who contributed to the high success of this mega program.

The raffle draw was held in Supervision by K Alikoya & Vinod kumar K.P. and prizes were distributed. Overall it was a cheerful day to remember as a large audience enjoyed and could exchange their respects each other in festive mood which was the eventually made possible by KDNA members hard work .

Zaheer Alakkal, Kalathil Abdul Rahiman, Karunakaran Perambra, Vinayan Calicut, Haneefa Kuttichira & Raveendran Mukkam coordinated overall proceedings.
