The Association was initially formed as Pathanamthitta Association on February 25, 2001. In 2009 it widened its scope of activities including all the areas in the District in view of the interest shown by people of different areas in the District to join the Association and changed the name to Pathanamthitta District Association.

Performing Social Welfare oriented schemes, holding cultural events with the aim of creating awareness on the traditional values and rich cultural heritage of our great Nation among the new generation, organizing Arts competitions to nurture and encourage the creative talents of expatriates and their children and involving in humanitarian activities are the hallmarks of Pathanamthitta District Association.

Pathanamthitta District’s record in art and sports fields is comparatively poor and some of the backward areas of the District, which has large number of economically weak communities lag behind in academic field as well although there are few exceptions. As an attempt to redeem this situation, the Association has conceived and has been implementing its novel scholarship scheme of “HOPE” (Helping Hands of Pathanamthitta Expatriates) by which the Association identifies students belonging to economically weak background who excel in studies and provide them scholarships to meet their academic expenses. The HOPE scheme commenced in 2014 was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha Deputy Speaker, Shri. P.J. Kurian and has benefitted almost 300 students from various Schools in Pathanamthitta District by now. The Association also gives Cash awards to students who excel in arts and sports competitions in State and National levels to encourage and motivate them to realize their potential and to attain glories in their respective fields. The Event “HRIDAYATHIL SOOKSHIKKAN” is aimed to raise a good capital to strengthen our above schemes, activities and humanitarian services.
Our Main Sponsor for the Event, “Hridayathil Sookshikkan” is SOUTH INDIAN BANK, a prominent commercial Bank in India and KOTAK INSURANCE, the leading Insurance Company who have joined together to support us in this noble venture.

The President expressed Association’s happiness in getting an opportunity to hold its prestigious Mega Event on the Independence Day of Kuwait and sought the Media’s cooperation and reach in publicizing the Event as best as possible.
