A home away from home

Deepthi Joji, IIK Young Reporter Wednesday, February 14, 2018
A home away from home

Kuwait…It’s truly a home away from home isn’t it? A country that gave us assets, for some which solved their debts in their natives, for some which provided something as good and best as an education, shelter, food etc. Indeed we are indebted to this country for providing us all these fortunes. I take this opportunity to thank this wonderful nation for its care and love.

The bond between India and Kuwait has begun before ages. This we can see through the artifacts found in Failaka Island. There has been a wide cultural exchange for sure in those days. Now I feel that a relation which started small like a seed now has branched up as big as a tree. Both India and Kuwait has had peaceful relationships and as Indians we can be proud that Indians constitute the largest workforce here in Kuwait and we have been described by His Excellency the Emir of Kuwait that we are the most brilliant and the least problematic expatriate community here in Kuwait. Indeed, we can be proud of this.

Kuwait is the breadwinner for many who live here. In the hottest of summers and the coldest of winters, for the people who work hard, Kuwait has always given the fruits of their hard work. Indian community in Kuwait can be found in all nooks and corners of Kuwait, be it semi-skilled workers or professionals such as nurses which are more in number.

To a country which has given us so much, let us thank in this country in this national and liberation day.

“SHUKRAN KUWAIT!!”
