The Indian Community School Kuwait, Conducts Differential Aptitude Test for Students

The Indian Community School Kuwait, organized Differential Aptitude Test (C-DAT), for the students of classes 11 & 12, in collaboration with CIGI (Centre for Information & Guidance India) Kuwait Chapter on Friday, 24th November 2017 & Saturday, 25th November at ICSK Senior.

The session was conducted during two days in three segments which included the motivational talk on career planning, aptitude test and individual counselling. The aptitude test which was free of cost was attempted by 55 students of classes 11 & 12, who had registered online and the motivational talk on career planning was attended by about 350 students of classes 9, 10, 11 & 12 and their parents.

The session commenced with an inaugural programme attended by the resource personalities of CIGI (Kuwait Chapter) - Dr. Sangeeth Ibrahim & Mr. Kabeer. Dr. Amir Ahmed, Chairman CIGI, Kuwait Chapter, Dr.V.Binumon, Principal & Senior administrator ICSK, Mrs. Sherly Dennis, Principal ICSK Junior, Mr. Gangadhar Shirsath, Principal, ICSK Khaitan and Mr.Rajesh Nair, Principal ICSK Amman also graced the occasion with their presence.

Dr.V.Binumon, Principal & Senior administrator ICSK extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries present which was followed by an informative introductory address by Dr. Amir Ahmed, Chairman CIGI Kuwait Chapter.

The motivational talk on career planning by Dr.Sangeeth Ibrahim, Vice President & Head of Learning & Career Development, Sharjah Islamic Bank, was the focal point of the session as it helped the parents and students understand the different aspects in choosing a career. He spoke at length about the careers suitable for the student aspirants.

The inspiring and entertaining session enlightened and motivated each and every one present in the school auditorium. Mr. Joel D’Souza, Senior teacher, Dept. of Geography delivered the vote of thanks to the eminent gathering. The Career Talk session was attended by about 350 students and their parents.

Differential Aptitude Test (C-DAT) is a proven scientific test that unveils the structure of a person's inborn potential or natural ability.

The Indian Community School Kuwait, has organized it for the first time in Kuwait in association with CIGI (Centre for Information & Guidance India) Kuwait chapter, to provide the students with meaningful experiences that will enhance their college and career readiness by providing them with the tools and pathways for their future. CIGI-‘Center for Information and Guidance India’ was established in 1996 with its headquarters in Kozhikkode, Kerala.

CIGI has its 11 chapters functioning in all the GCC countries including Kuwait. CIGI has implemented various educational and career empowerment programs with the support of the local government bodies.

The test sessions were spread over two days and have comprised of six segments of aptitude tests namely verbal, numerical reasoning & skills, two language skills tests, which were followed by an Individual Counselling Session for each student with the counsellor, Mr. Kabeer. Parents of participating students also got the opportunity to interact with the counsellor.

Effective decision-making process regarding future careers is a part of academic development. This in turn would help the students to look more objectively at the various options open to them.

The session helped the students gain a better insight into their individual areas of strength and the parents an idea about which career options will be the best suitable ones for their children.
