Spin a Yarn contest and Be The One Workshop Mesmerized the Students

IndiansinKuwait.com (IIK) presented ‘Spin - A - Yarn' Contest under the banner of IIK Spectrum and a Workshop on "Be The One" for school students on Wednesday, 29th November 2017 at Indian Community School Kuwait - Senior branch, Salmiya from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The participants of this unique contest came up with different stories and presented them in a humorous and funny way to catch the audiences and took them to a new level of imagination. Various titles were given to the participants which includes "I got up from sleep and found I am a genie", "My pet lion is a vegetarian", "I turned off the heating system of the sun" etc.

The unique contest organized by IIK provided participants the opportunity to bring out to their wildest imagination in the most humorous way. This contest also provided a platform for the parents to watch how the children developed their personality through communication skills.

There were 20 participants - Junior and Senior from 11 Indian schools. The participants put up a great show with each one narrating a very different story filled with humor and laughter. The audience and judges were spell bound by the mind blowing performances of these young narrators.

Each and every participant was awarded a certificate of participation and was given a gift hamper as a token of appreciation for their wonderful performance by IndiansinKuwait and sponsor High Sierra.

The winners of the competition were:

Junior Section -

First Place: Nakshatra Neeraja Binu, Indian Educational School, Kuwait - Bhavans

Second Place: Hemshyam Tangamani, India International School, Mangaf

Third Place: Sabah Faez, ICSK - Amman

Senior Section -

First Place: Afnan Shafkat Sayyed, Indian Educational School, Kuwait - Bhavans

Second Place: Deon Prince D'Souza, ICSK - Khaitan

Third Place: Sehen Dilkush, SIMS, Salmiya.

First Prize winners received a fabulous Watch sponsored by TikTok, a Trophy and Certificate from IIK. Second and Third Prize winners received Bags sponsored by High Sierra, Medal and Certificate. Prizes were given to the winners by Mr Rajshekar, Brand Manager of Tik Tok, Mr.Noufal Babu, Key Account Manager of High Sierra, Mr Surya Prakash, Chief Judge and IIK Officials.

The second half of the program was a workshop conducted by Mr Surya S Prakash:" Be The One" - A Workshop on Art of Public Speaking. The workshop was very interesting and Interactive. Mr Surya Prakash was awarded with a token of appreciation by IIK for his marvelous workshop.

The first of its kind on the spot "Tongue Twister" Contest attracted the packed audience. Prizes were given to Kids who said the Tongue Twister sentences most number of times in a given time by the sponsor High Sierra bags.

The Spin A Yarn Contest was very well conducted and compered by Emcee - Master Daniel, Contest Chairs Ms Bhavya, Ms. Emma, Master Aditya and Master Edwin.

The contest was judged by Dr. (Mrs) Sabiha Bilgrammi, Mrs. Reshmy Krishnakumar, Mr Rajesh Verlekar, Mr. Geev Mathai and Chief Judge was Mr Surya S Prakash.

The sponsors for the event were Tik Tok, High Sierra and Al Rashed Shipping Company.

Congratulation all the Winners. The Indians in Kuwait encouraging young children by setting a stage to show their talents and ICSK providing venue. Great.
