Wednesday, November 22, 2017

KIFF league 4th week matches started with AKFC playing against Santos United.

Both teams knowing they had to win to keep their hopes alive in the league, started cautiously. As the match progressed AKFC scored through Mohammed Shaamil in the 20th minute to go for the lemon break with a 1-0 lead.

Second half, the margin was increased by AKFC through Sanil who gave no chance for Santos goalkeeper with his power packed 30 yards shot. That goal gave Santos United some ‘kick’ to start playing their normal game. Their pressure paid off when Mairon pulled one back from the penalty spot.

To the delight of AKFC supporters their players stayed put not allowing any more damage thus winning the match 2-1.

Shanavas of AKFC was awarded man of the match award presented by Mr. Mansour President of AKFC.

Match was officiated by Christopher, Rosario and Rafi.

The Second match was played between Tuskers and F C Sparks.

Tuskers, the newcomers in the league started the match with control scoring within first 8 minutes through Minas.

F C Sparks on the other hand showed their usual, brilliant ball passing ability and should have equalized soon but their strikers kept on missing chances.
In the second half F C Sparks were the better team creating chance after chance, which however, their strikers failed to convert. Finally they were rewarded when Zaheer equalised from a mistake by Tuskers goalkeeper.

The match ended on level terms, the score being 1-1.

Mr. Ahmed of F C Sparks was awarded man of the match award presented by Mr. Rajit Kumar President of F C Sparks.

Officials of the match were Victor, Nameer and Arnold.

AVC and Don Bosco Oratory played one of the best match of the season so far thereby entertaining the Friday morning crowd.

Pace of the match was mesmerizing till the end. Every move by the teams brought excitement to the crowd only to see the shots hitting post or cross bars.

Finally in the first half supporters, DBO were awarded a penalty but to the delight of AVC, their goalkeeper brilliantly saved the spot kick taken by Loyed, which kept the score level during the break.

In the second half both teams tried their best to score but were again denied either by the post, crossbar or goalkeepers. AVC goalkeeper was at his best under the bar and kept them in the game with unbelievable saves.

Finally the deadlock was broken when Sardeej of AVC scored to give them a win with a score of 1-0 and go top of the pool.

Goalkeeper of AVC Shaijal was rightfully awarded man of the match presented by Mr. Christopher V. President of DBO.

The match was officiated by Jerry, George and Rafi.

Soccer Kerela and Indian Strikers was a drab affair. Both teams were not in their best of form as both missed some of their stars in the line-up.
ISFC were better than their opponents on the day but could not convert the chances they had to win the match. Finally the match ended in a draw with both teams sharing the points.

Biju Titus of ISFC was awarded man of the match presented by Mr. Robert President of ISFC.
