Hike in health fees won’t solve demographic imbalance: MPs

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

The new fees on health services presented to expatriates are too high and would not help solve the state’s demographic imbalance, local media reported quoting number of lawmakers. The lawmakers is of the opinion that the best alternative would be speeding up the construction of health insurance hospitals which would be dedicated to providing health services to expats.

Meanwhile, the local Arabic media reported that according to legal sources, the decision of the Minister of Health to increase health fees for expatriates ‘is suspected of violating the law’.

The report added that, through the judiciary, it is possible to appeal the illegality of the decision directly first as well as the unconstitutionality of the decision.

if the decision is illegal and unconstitutional, than the minister should resign due to lack of knowledge of laws and regulations set forth by the elected ASSEMBLY & CONSTITUTION of Kuwait. hope the decision is postponed till the new expat hospitals come up.
