ASSE Kuwait Chapter takes the opportunity to congratulate Mr. CH. Rama Krushna Chary, President, ASSE Kuwait Chapter who has been awarded with ASSE Global Region (IX) Safety Professional of the Year (SPY) 2017 award for his significant achievement in the profession as well as for his outstanding volunteering service to Kuwait Chapter and for ASSE Global Region (IX) as a whole.
ASSE recognized him with this award for his ongoing efforts to HSE profession and contributions to the Society. Mr. Tom Cecich, CSP, CIH, ASSE President with Mr. Ashok Garlapati, ASSE Global Region IX) Vice President presented this award during Chapter Recognition Luncheon, Safety 2017 in Denver, Colorado, USA on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. This is an honor acknowledging his dedication and outstanding contributions in advancing the health, safety and environmental (HSE) profession through exemplary volunteer service to the ASSE Global Region (IX) and at professional career.
He is holding a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, India and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Oil & Gas from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), India. He is having more than 16 years of experience in various organizations like Oil & Gas, Refinery, Consultancy, etc., His experience involved in the field of waste & air quality management, compliance, permit applications and establishment & implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS). Present he is working as Senior Environment Engineer, Drilling & Technology Directorate, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait. He is a lead auditor for ISO 14001, internal auditor for OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001 & ISO 9001 and certified H2S Awareness train the trainer.
Mr. Chary has been providing an volunteer services to ASSE Global Region (IX) as a Best Practices Chair & member of Regional Operating Committee (ROC), ASSE Practice Specialty as a Executive Secretary of Environmental Practice Specialty & Technical Question Coordinator of Environmental Practice Specialty and Kuwait Chapter as an organizing committee member of Chapter International HSSE & Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference and Exhibitions, GCC HSE Excellence Award Programs, Chapter Secretary, Committee Head, etc., He published many HSE articles in National and International magazines and presented technical papers in National and International conferences.
He has been recognized by various prestigious awards such as Distinguished Young Alumni Public Service Award (DYAPSA) 2016 from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, India. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) CEO HSSE Awards from 2013 to 2015 (three conjugative years), Safety Professional of the Year awards 2015 and 2016 from ASSE Environmental Practice Specialty, USA and Kuwait Chapter respectively.
