New electricity tariff for apartments from August 22

Sunday, April 30, 2017

The Ministry of Electricity and Water’s (MEW) Undersecretary Mohammad Bousherhi explained that the new electricity fare would be 5 fils per megawatt and that it be in effect on May 22 in commercial buildings (shops and markets), August 22 in investment buildings (apartment buildings), November 22 in government sector (state departments) and February 22, 2018 in all other sectors.

“Private houses will be fully exempted from the fare increase,” he underlined, noting that citizens living in apartments rented in investment buildings would pay the new fare if they owned a private residence. Boushehri stressed that the parliament had refused a proposal to impose additional fares in private residences (government houses).

The news reporter wrote it wrong. It would be 5 fils per kilowatts (kW), not megawatt (MW).
1000 kilowatt's = 1 megawatt.
According to the new tarrif in summer who used to pay 10 KD now they will pay 25KD

We Indians always cry for anything here in Kuwait whereas we are paying hefty tariffs and so many taxes back in home. Here this rise in very reasonable. Kuwait government is very kind compare to BJP govt in India.

5 fils per kilowatt-hour not megawatt-hour. (kilo watt hour means one kilowatt power used for one hour. Or 10 number of 100 W bulb light for one hour consume one kilowatt-hour energy or five fils energy)
