Soorya chapter celebrating Soorya India Festival 2017

In association with Kuwait National Exchange Co., Soorya Kuwait Chapter shall be staging “Soorya India Festival 2017, on the evening of Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Salmiya Indian Model School Auditorium Salmiya at 7.00 PM

His Excellency, the Indian Ambassador Sunil Jain will inaugurate the festival, aiming to promote International integration through culture.

This time Soorya is coming up with 3 strong women characters in 3 solo dramas titled “Insight” by 3 Bharatanatyam exponents – Dr. Janaki Rangarajan as “Draupathi”, Arupa Lahiri as" Ahalia" and Dakshina Vaidyanathan as “Soorpanakha”

Dr. Janaki Ramachandran represents the future of the ancient art form. Her refreshing approach to Bharatanatyam has won her many accolades such as Kala Rathna Award, Nandanamamani Award.

Arupa Lahiri, a disciple of legendary Chennai based dancer Chitra Vishwesaran, is a brilliant Bharatanatyam performer and has bagged several awards and titles such as Singar Mani, Fellowship from National Folklore Centre, Chennai.

Dakshina Vaidhyanathan belongs to a family of eminent Bharatanatyam dancers. Having performed at many national and international festivals, she has honored with prestigious awards such as the Nirbhaya Puraskar and Natya Ratna.

“With individual performances of above three dancers, no doubt, they will regale the viewers as it will be yet another showpiece” according to organizers.
