Ministry to enquire reason for floods after yesterday

The minister of public works on Saturday said that a panel would be formed to examine why some roads and public places were swamped with rain water. Minister Al-Mutawaa held an emergency meeting with officials of his department to take a stock of the situation after the heavy rain witnessed in Kuwait yesterday.

A special and neutral committee will be formed to examine causes that led to accumulation of huge volumes of water onto the roads and public squares in the country, he added, indicating that names of the civil servants responsible for the problem would be publicized. The relevant panel will prepare a report about the issue and refer it to the competent authorities in two weeks.

Several low-level locations in the country, especially in Mangaf, Fahaheel area were swamped with torrential rain water yesterday, amid an unstable weather gripping the whole Arabian Peninsula.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Fire Safety department informed that the department received 49 Flood Response and rescued 20 families during yesterday rain. The hospitals in Kuwait received 433 emergency cases after the heavy rain. The water submerged many cars and left many people stranded yesterday night.

First Kuwait has to concentrate on the High ways, the Roads are really too bad condition from years there is no new Asphalt/Bitumen on road, because of that the accidents/breaking glasses tire problems etc.

Most of the comments here are negative in nature. Every year before start of rainy season, we notice all the drains cleaned by authorities. Even when it rains, almost all the roads are open. Compare it with the situation in India where even a small drizzle causes disruptions. Once in a while one drain might have clogged and caused problem. People are diverting the problem to spit out their other issues. FYI, I was driving from Fahaheel at 8.45pm that night to Salmiyah in the rain. I reached home at 10pm. As you are aware, it was not normal rain. With all the precautions, you can not make the place fool proof. But that does not give you moral right to criticize everything good done. Just imagine drains not clear and whole areas of Mangaf, Fahaheel, Farwaniya, Salmiya water logged. Did it happen? No. Why? Because most of the drain system is working perfectly.

Cleaned by Expats and again the MP will blame to expats, to put tax, etc, dear all including expats respect every one God will respect us,if any one is hurting to others without reason God never forgive them,This below is just a good example from Allahsubhanawotala.

Help each other to goodness and heedfulness. Do not help each other to wrongdoing and enmity. Heed Allah. Allah is severe in retribution. (Surat al-Ma'ida: 2)

It is not righteousness to turn your faces to the East or to the West. Rather, those with true righteousness are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, the Angels, the Book and the Prophets, and who, despite their love for it, give away their wealth to their relatives and to orphans and the very poor, and to travellers and beggars and to set slaves free, and who establish prayer and pay welfare tax; those who honour their contracts when they make them, and are steadfast in poverty and illness and in battle. Those are the people who are true. They are the people who do their duty. (Surat al-Baqara: 177)

When Kuwait starts torturing expats, the Almighty will never keep silent. Kuwait can expect many more natural disasters ahead if the citizens of this land does not repent of their works. It is written in the Quran & Bible - "Treat the guests/visitors who visit the land with courtesy". So, Kuwaitis better take care of your actions.
