Thousands Attended KDNA Malabar Mahotsavam 2017.

Kozhikode District NRI Association (KDNA ) conducted for the sixth time in succession the Mega Event “Malabar Mahostavam? ?2017 ” with vigor and enthusiasm. The event which replicated the rich cultural heritage of Malabar was held in conjunction with national and liberation day celebrations of Kuwait. This further showed the strong centuries old bond between Kuwait and India . The event was filled with multiple sections starting from morning. It was a grand success in terms of big audience and their participation. It was enjoyable for people from all walks of life including children with variety of activities in the open air specially arraigned venue "Kozhikottangai" Indian C?entral School premises, Abbasiya.

The whole day event was officially declared started and venue was opened by Mr. Kamal, famous film director and Kerala ?State ?film Academy ?Chairman along with KDNA officials and members in the morning. The short opening function was presided over by KDNA Secretary Ubaid Chakitakandy. A advisory board member Kalathil Abdurahiman welcomed the audience and Muhammadali Arakkal rendered vote of thanks. In the morning hours ?Fancy Dress, Face Painting, Henna Designing and Cooking competition?s? was held. In the afternoon Ghazal "Ormakalil Baburaj" ?by ?famous singer ?Rafi Kallai and Namitha was the highlight.

In the evening the cultural feast was held with the cultural procession with chief guest Director Kamal and guest of honor His Excellency Sunil K Jain?? Indian Ambassador and other guests lined-up. Mr. Kamal inaugurated the cultural conference by traditional lighting the lamp. Ambassador delivered his guest of honor’s speech.

KDNA President Suresh Mathur presided over the function. General Secretary Zubair MM briefed about KDNA activities . Aziz Thikkodi introduced the chief guest. Mathews Varughese (BEC Country Head) and Basheer Batha (Advisory Board Member) made felicitation speeches. Souvenir was released by chief guest handing over to Advisory Board Member Santhosh Punathil. Various prizes for Henna Designing? ?and cooking competition was distributed by Afsal Khan (Malabar Gold? & Diamonds), Abid (I-black) Krishnan Kadalundi & Ali Koya? etc. Education awards for who had excelled in ?SSLC and Plus two exams was also distributed by Managing Director of Infinit Training Center Mr. Nasar Thikkodi & Program Joint Convener Ilias Thottathil at the function. A caricature of ?Director Kamal was presented to him by Dr. John Arts Kalabhavan. ??Director Kamal and Ambassador Sunil K Jain honored with mementos and gifts during the public meeting. ??Malabar Maholsavam General Convener Sathian Varoonda welcomed the audience and ?Treasurer ?Zaheer Alakkal rendered vote of thanks.

Fancy Dress and Face painting competitions was one of the highlight of the event with huge participation of children. Gifts for the Judges were distributed by Shijith Kumar Chirakkal

After the social gathering artists from Shivadam School of Dance, Break House, Nandanan School of dance, Heart Beats and famous international hip-hope group next episode crew and KDNA Children's enthralled the audience with their variety of dances including fusion. The Play back singers Riyas Payyoli, Rijiya Riyas, ?Shaji Varghese, ?Haris, Nayana mesmerized with their singing and comedy artists Nissam Calicut, Binu Adimali and Sumesh Thambi were outstanding with their unique numbers.

Overall the event got a lot of applauds for its clear orchestration bringing the glory of Malabar presented in Kuwait with variety of food stalls, cultural program , photo exhibition of Kuwait & India Leaders , and touching speeches by guests. It was a great opportunity for exchanging views and interactions for individuals and families. At the concluding function many won various raffle coupon prizes distributed. KDNA is focusing on helping the deserving needy people through its various interventions and also improvement of its members through cultural activities. KDNA office bearer's, Central Executive committee Members, Area and Unit committee members, Women's Forum members distributed memento for the dances participants and controlled and coordinated the memorable mega event. Orchestra by Melody's Kuwait,Sound and Lights arranged by Zain Event and Jisha N Subin anchored the mega event.
