Plan to make driving licenses and residence permits renewal online

Sunday, March 5, 2017

Ministry is working on a project to facilitate the renewal of driving licenses, residence permits of household workers employed by Kuwaitis and residence permits of expatriates through the Interior Ministry’s e-site and smart application.

Quoting Director-General of the General Department for Info Systems at the Interior Ministry Major General Ali Al-Ma’ili, Al Anba daily reported that the new system

will allow the Kuwaitis and expatriates to renew their driving licenses and residence permits and also pay fines through the system without the need to visit the departments.

However, the applicants will have to go in person to collect the completed transactions and put the residence permit stickers on their passports at the relevant residence affairs departments in the respective governorates.

The project is expected to launch by mid of 2017.
