A Lesson in Charity at Indian Community School

“We make a living by what we get... but we make a life by what we give.”

The young philanthropists of the Indian community school (Senior) handover a corpus amount to an Indian National Mr. Satheesh who had been under medical treatment at Adan Hospital for last few months. In response to a news that appeared in a local daily about the need of this 38-year-old Indian, undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure, the students and staff of ICSK Senior made this generous contribution from the “Birthday Charity Fund” that enabled him to seek special treatment in India. The staff and students have been facilitating philanthropic support to the cancer patients since 2014 and have already provided Rs.20 lakhs for the needy patients undergoing medical treatment in Kuwait. The school magnificently succeeded to generate a feeling of empathy and social commitment among the students through the charity programme. Students are made to learn that charity is one of the noble tasks that a human should practice in his/her life.

Dr. V. Binumon, Principal ICSK (Senior) appreciated the students and staff for their effort in collecting birth day fund on a monthly basis. Student conveners, staff and parent representative were present on the special occasion.
