“Made in India Exhibition” at Salmiya Holiday Inn

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Sunil Jain inaugurated the “Made in India Exhibition” organised by the Indian Embassy at Al Dana Ball Room, Hotel Holiday Inn, Salmiya. The Exhibition will continue till 8:00 pm on Saturday, 18th February.

Large number of Indian products which are available in Kuwait are on display at the exhibition. "This is a small glimpse of what India does. This will help our Kuwaiti friends to see the kind of products India make with the exceptional quality and price, Ambassador Sunil Jain told after inaugurating the exhibition. "From 'Made in India' we are also looking to 'Make in India ‘We also encourage our Kuwaiti friends to go to India and produce the products for Indian market and for export," he said. The current bilateral trade between India and Kuwait is around 6 billion, ambassador added.

Large number of Indian brands including CEAT Tyres, TVS Tyres, Index Batteries, Apolo Tyres, Royal Enfield Motor cycle, Eicher Motors, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Godrej Security solutions, Godrej Interio, Amaron batteries, Laopala Tablewae, Havels / Finolex cables, Onida, Kenstar, VIP Luggage, Videocon, Force Motors, Elgi Air compressor, MRF Tyres, JK tyres, Servo Oil, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Kent Water Purifier, Bal Krishna Tyres, Butterfly and Pigeon brand are on display at the exhibition.

"We are happy to promote more and more Indian products in Kuwait," said Mr.Kuldeep Singh Lamba, Managing Director of Al Mailam group, which represents CEAT Tyres, TVS Tyres and Index Batteries. This is a great platform to introduce our Indian brands among the Kuwaiti friends, he added.

Mr Hamsa Melekandy, Managing Director of Bahra trading, who brings Ashok Leyland told IndiansinKuwiat.com that Ashok Leyland occupies around 48% market share in Kuwait among large passenger vehicles. "We just recently introduced new 33 seater bus, which will be a good option for the private transportation sector" he added. As per the 2016 statistics from General traffic department, Ashoka Leyland is having 48% market share in Kuwait among the large passenger vehicle segment, he said.

Indian water purifier brand ‘Kent’ had displayed variety of water and air purifiers at the exhibition. Indian water purifier brands are now getting popular demands even from the Kuwaiti customers, said Eldose Joy, Regional Manager of Kent water purifiers.

The display of Indian made automobiles including Royal Enfield Motor cycle, Tata buses, Ashoka Leyland buses, Suzuki cars, Eicher, Mahindra etc attracted the public and got an opportunity for the public to experience the Indian made vehicles in close contact. The Exhibition is open to all.
