Then why do we work in Kuwait. Now-a-days salaries in India are at par with their counter parts in Kuwait. Only benefit we had was the Tax benefit, which we would have to pay in India while not in Kuwait, which is in return of all the sacrifices we do, such as away from family members, missing functions and festivals all over and above the discrimination we face at all areas in day-to-day life.
If the proposal on taxation turns to a decision, Kuwait is not going to benefit in any way, if not losers.

This is their country. They can decide what's best for their country. Hope they make wise decision as this will affect every thing. Many will leave their family home which makes the real estate sector to bleed more. Many shops will close without business. Finally the economy will take a big hit, so the decisions should be taken very carefully. Another source of income should be generated just by seeing Dubai as an example.

I read from all this comments as rubbish. Sir, we come to Kuwait by paying a certain amount for processing visas and we pay all the other necessary payments to stay in Kuwait (residence charges/health insurance/civil id charges/etc....) on the above we work for your country and in return we were paid a salary. Major expats leave their kids and other expats bring their families and pay rent, school fees and their dependents all expenses. Please consider all this income for a while and what else made you charge as taxes for the hard earned income of an expat. thanks

Real estate business in Kuwait is already in decline because of harsh measures taken against expats. Now ii the tax is imposed on remittance then expats will have no option to look for other means. I think now the business of money exchanges will be in trouble.

Take whatever you want from expatriates but also give facilities, give nationality and return back their taxes at the end the year and provide free education to the children of the expatriates like other countries are doing.

Suggestions to impose tax on expats remittances - most of the employees with their business or working as employees will have a difficult time at least in the initial stages to overcome the burden of expenses for meeting their needs and of their dependent family members.
Nothing to say more of other situations to face and move forward in the life.
