Proposal to reduce number of expats 'inapplicable'

Sunday, December 25, 2016

A proposal made by MP Khalil Abul to reduce the number of expatriates in Kuwait and make it even with Kuwaitis’ numbers is basically inapplicable, local news paper Al Rai reported quoting government sources.

According to Al Rai news paper report, the government studies every proposal made by the parliament “and after that it makes an announcement about it”. They noted at the same time that Abul’s proposal is inapplicable in principle ‘for several considerations,’ even within a time frame of five to ten years.

Earlier last week, MP Khalil Abul suggested a new proposal by deporting marginal labor, victims of visa trafficking and expats with criminal records, which, according to him, could help cut expats’ numbers by around one million.

Day by day traffic is increasing can they do anything about that..? taxies are very much increased and it reached more than 15,000 this much required in Kuwait. nothing is in control of the govt. because nationals are behind that.

It is futile those who suggest radical measures to restrict human migration. first of all, kuwait is geographically well located not to have any illegal migration into thier borders unlike India-Bangladesh or USA-mexico. every person entering kuwait enters on a legal visa and through variety of checks. any radical restrictions will complicate economic activity in the country. Kuwait does not offer any assistance to expats, it is not worth the struggle for an expat to stay unemployed or heck even remain marginally employed for considerably long time. thus these "marginal labors" are employed sufficiently and absorbed in the economy. instead of criminalizing them open up. economies works on scale, if population is shrunk so will be the economy. Economist are smart enough to figure these out. rest it is noise !

It is possible somebody just has to take a stern bold step towards it, stop issuing visa for top 3 nationals for 2-3 yrs and start reducing the numbers ...it is possible definitely it is possible. Give it a try.....please
