Traffic Department suspends seizure of vehicles

Monday, December 5, 2016

The General Traffic Department (GTD) has suspended seizure of vehicles for all violations, except extremely serious ones, due to expiration of contract that the Ministry of Interior signed with Kuwait Public Transport Company (KPTC) next week, local daily Arab Times reported.

According to daily, Director of Violations Investigation Colonel Mohammad Al-Sa’eedi issued the circular to stop concerned officers from impounding vehicles except in cases of serious violations such as recklessness, performing stunts, racing, using private cars as taxis, exceeding speed limit above 170 km/h and motorbike violations.

The circular was distributed patrol teams to stop seizure of vehicles that violate insurance expiration, tainting of cars and those with stickers. This will be over when a new contract is sealed in that regard.

Authorities should make introspection on many many issues, which are totally anti expatriate and not in the best interest of Kuwait both internally and externally as the world is condemning you.
