Onam Celebrations of Kottayam District Pravasi Association (KODPAK) was held on Friday 21st October 2016 at Poppins Hall Abbassiya with colorful cultural programs from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM
It was an auspicious occasion of 500 more people attended the program blessed with the presence of respected dignitaries from all over Kuwait
After the prayer, the entire audience paid respect to the Indian Jawans who lost their lives in the Uri attack by observing silence.
Thereafter, Shri.George Thomas Kalayil(General Secretary- KODPAK) welcome all the invitees and guests present on the occasion with Onam greetings and the note of importance and existence of KODPAK in Kuwait. In the presidential address Shri, Anoop Soman(President-KODPAK) along with his Onam greetings, he raise the importance of the unification of all the natives of Kottayam with a single umbrella of KODPAK and expects the entire coordination with immediate Membership campaign. Chief Guest, the Indian Embassy Labour Attache, Shri.Thomas Joseph inaugurated the celebration by lighting the traditional lamp along with the message of Onam and unveiled the official logo of KODPAK. Thereafter OICC president Shri. Varghese Puthukkulangara, Kala Kuwait General Secretary Shri. Saji Janardhanan, Bharatiya Pravasi Parishad General Secretary Shri.Hari Balaramapuram ,Patron Shri.Sibichan Maliakal , Vice president C.S Bathar, felicitated the occasion.
Afterwards Shri.Justin James(Treasurer-KODPAK) delivered the vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and other respected personalities ,representatives of various Associations in Kuwait whoever present on this session, moreover the executive members and all the members of KODPAK who joined with us on this occasion.
Athappookkalam, Mahabali, Vallappattu, Mimicri,Naadan Paattu,Dance, Thiruvathira , Chendamelam, Bharathanatyam, Songs depicting Onam, Cinematic dance, musical concert are the main attractions of this program.
In between, a delicious Ona Sadya was served to all attendees.
Program Convener, Mr. Ratheesh Kumbalathu, Mr.Rakesh, Mr.Dipin Prasad, and the Advisory Board members,Mr.Abraham Malethu, Mr.Pothen and other executive members were the pillars for the success of the program. Mrs.Princy Maliakal brilliantly compeered the program.
