Kayamkulam NRIs Kuwait celebrated the Onam Eid of this year in its splendid manner on last Friday October 14, 2016, at Udayam Restaurant, Mahboula.

After the National anthems of both Kuwait and India, the entire audience paid respect to the Indian Jawans who lost their lives while protecting the country by lighting candles and observing silence. While holding the National Flag of India by Baby Alaikha Nair Secretary Gopalakrishnan declared solidarity to the Indian Army.

Thereafter, the Chief Guest, the Indian Embassy Second Secretary inaugurated the celebration by the traditional lamp lighting. President B.S. Pillai chaired the meeting, while Advisor Sirajudeen and another Advisor and the President of Janata Cultural Centre Safeer P. Harris felicitated the occasion.

Tom Jacob, Vice-President, Former General Secretary K.G. Sreekumar, Treasurer K.C. Krishna Kumar and Program Convener Renjith shared the dais.

The Chief Guest was escorted to the dais with Mahabali, Pulikkali, Chendamelam and Thalappoli. The program which lasted from 10 am till 5pm, staged a number of cultural programmes depicting the good old memories of Onam such Thiruvathira, Onappattukal and Oppana and above all, the musical extravaganza by Stars of Kuwait were the main attractions of the day.

In between, a sumptuous Ona Sadya served everyone was well appreciated. Khaleel, Vipin Mangattu, Salim, Satish C. Pillai, Hari Soman, Arun, Biju Parayil, Madhukuttan, Viswanath, Hassan Kunju, Biju Abdul Kader were the key people who led the celebration to a grand success.

General Secretary Abdul Vahab welcomed the audience, while Sunil S.S. Secretary, proposed vote of thanks. Sradha Binu excellently compered the program.
