Residency Department to replace paper stams with electronic receipt

Tuesday, October 18, 2016

General Department of Residency Affairs will launch a new system for replacing paper stamps with electronic ones within a few weeks, local news paper Al-Anba daily reported.

According to report, Director of General Department of Residency Affairs Major General Talal Marafi ordered the launch of the new system to put an end to the phenomenon of reusing paper stamps more than once.

The sources explained that visitors, after a few weeks, will be asked to head to a counter where they shall receive a receipt for the desired value of the stamp. The receipt will have a serial number that will be recognized by the machine.

They indicated that the department signed a contract with a company in this regard and received a number of these machines, 26 of which have already been installed in all governorates.
