Minimum salary requirement for visit visas increased

Sunday, October 16, 2016

Kuwait has increased the minimum salary required for expatriates to be able to bring their spouse or children on a visit to 200 Kuwaiti Dinars, up from 150.

Under new measures, the requirement is raised to KD 300 a month for an expatriate who wants to bring a sibling or other members of the family, including parents Talal Al Maarifi, the director general of residency, has said.

The measures stipulate that parents who are more than 50 years old will not be granted visit visas. However, exceptions can be granted following a study of the visit application, the official added.

Last week, Kuwaiti authorities raised the minimum salary required for foreigners to sponsor family members from KD 250 to KD 450. The authorities will consider only the salary of the father. The KD450 minimum salary is required from the father as he is the sponsor. There will be no calculations based on merging the salaries of the parents. If the mother is the sponsor, the same rule applies and only her salary will be considered for granting the family visa.

As per ISLAM we are suppose of take care of our parents,Bcoz our Nabisallalahualaihuwosalam, tells that when a Sahiba asked who is next after Allah & Rasool he replied 3time Mother and 1time father,if we cannot bring them here at least 1month in year then what should we do for parents,Allah has written our Rizk here and we are really thanks to Kuwait and i salute the Govt, but please dont make such condition at least once in year for 2months more then enough or in 2years 3months is enough, this is my humble request.

So I'm not allowed to spend time with my parents in Kuwait. Great!

Kuwait Govt. making rules to stop the people to bring the family instead of providing better infrastructure to country. They do not have business mind. If people come more then they have more turn over the country. Then country will growth more. All need to buy necessary things like daily use item, and car, etc.

Banning parents visa above 50 yrs is quite illogical. If demographic or economic reasons are behind it then govt. must declare slab system i.e.up to KD 450 -no parent visa but salary of sponsor if above 750 he may get dependent visa. even if medical expenses of parents are problem, the Kuwaiti govt. can imposed little fee towards medical or issue the parent visa with the condition that this person is not entitled for Medical facility in Kuwait. But at least every thing must be reasonable and clear.

Instead of putting a bar on the age, why dont you limit number of visits to kuwait, not more than 3 or 5 times a year??

I think that should be a fair justice than NOT allowing parents if they are aged more than 50 years. If Kuwait is a country who respects elders and old people, please do not keep a NO ENTRY to people who is 50 and above.

Yes right Kuwait Govt has increased the limits because "COST OF LIVING" is up in here and middleeast. It is become impossible to bring families here.Rent of single apartment is 280KD and two bedroom is 380 KD. See the savings and other expenses after deducting salary ir 450-380=?? and 450- 280?? and see rest expenses if possible. of family . See what is your saving!!!.The time for salaries to be increased is come. Also Western salaries need to be decreased and "huge gap" bridged with Eastern salaries .

Increasing salary cap will directly affect Kuwaiti economy. More expats will be having salary more than 300 or 350 KD and won't be able to bring families. This would in turn encourage more remittance for supporting family at home. It is this simple calculation that is being missed or ignored by Kuwaiti Govt.

Surely any person working in Kuwait say his age is 25 years, so surely his parents will be more than 50 years. Kuwait government please tell us straight that no visit visa for anyone except wife & kids that wont make us feel much bad than making such illogical rules.

It's pushing us towards towards losing interest here and opt for other alternatives.
