Expats took bank loan from Kuwait need to submit receipts

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Citizens and expatriates who obtained loans from various banks in Kuwait must submit receipts reflecting usage of the loan amount, local daily Al-Shahid daily reported quoting sources.

According to report, banks have instructed the customers to submit receipts and this will take effect from first of October. Banks will take legal action against those who will not comply, daily added.

Daily also added that the Credit Information Network (Ci-Net) will blacklist all those who will not submit the invoices.

THIS RULE IS IMPLEMENTED SINCE OCTOBER 2015 (LAST YEAR).
WHOEVER HAS TAKEN LOAN PRIOR TO THAT, IN MY OPINION, IS EXEMPT.
OTHERS WHO HAVE TAKEN THE LOANS EFFECTIVE 1ST OCTOBER 2015, NEED TO SUBMIT PROOF FOR UTILIZATION OF THAT LOAN. EXAMPLE PURCHASE OF CAR, HOUSE, PROPERTY ETC. YOU HAVE TO SUBMIT THESE DETAILS WITHIN 6 TO 12 MONTHS OF TAKING THE LOAN.
AS MENTIONED EARLIER, THIS IS TO ENSURE FUNDS ARE NOT BEING SPENT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION.

REGARDS,

For any loan the receipt of at least 80% of the loan value has to be submitted within 6 months of taking the loan. If you bought a car just submit the receipt from the car firm. Or if you took a loan to clear a loan back home just a receipt from the other party that you settled the other bank loan. NBK is very helpful in clarifying the details. The most professional bank in Kuwait and I took a loan in FEB 2016 so this is what I experienced.

Please elaborate in detail

Guys...as long as one is paying the installments regularly.. no worries. While taking a loan if purpose is mentioned then you may have to submit the proof, else this is just to prepare a plan to secure the loan because some people take loan just to remitt the amount back to their home country and leave the country for good without settling the loan.

Can the usage receipts have to be from Kuwait or can it be anywhere outside Kuwait also?

Hope they concerned authority knows the meaning of personal loan and should not be linked with its usage in Kuwait only.

Needs more clarification
