Kuwait Cricket, the official body for cricket activities in Kuwait, which comes under the auspices of Kuwait Olympic Committee and Public Authority for Youth & Sports, announced the team to participate in the ICC-CWC Under 19 Asia Cup Qualifier, Division 2 tournament, 2016 which is scheduled to be held in Malaysia, hosted by Malaysian Cricket Association for the Asia region starting Monday, 26th September till Thursday, October 6th 2016.
Seven Indian students from various Indian Schools, Akhil Sajeev (Carmel School), Gokul Sunilkumar (United Indian School), Govind Sunilkumar (United Indian School), Shiv Govind (Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Kuwait), Manjot Singh (Indian Community School), Varun Bhavsar (Indian Public School), and Nomaan Budroo (DPS) got selected to represent Kuwait Under 19 squad.
They hail from different cricket clubs in Kuwait. The team is accompanied by Mr. Murali Kutticode (Director, Junior & Corporate Cricket, Kuwait Cricket) and Mr. Arjuna Amaratunga (Team Coach). The young Kuwait team has been undergoing training and match practices under the guidance of the team coach. It is yet another proud moment for the Indian expatriate society in Kuwait watching the team set forth to Malaysia for the qualifiers.
