Kuwait approves proposal to impose health insurance fee on visitors

Thursday, July 28, 2016

Kuwait government approved the proposal submitted by MP Khalil Al-Saleh to impose fees for health services presented to expats who come to the country on a visit visa. According to local daily reports, the proposal was submitted at the start of the last parliamentary session and is accepted by the government although it was opposed by the foreign ministry.

The proposal commits the sponsor, who applies for a visit visa for a foreigner, must attach to the application form a comprehensive health insurance policy obtained from a licensed insurance company. Based on this insurance, the visitor can avail of health services in private hospitals for free during his stay in the country.

Do the ministry think any private Health insurance Co. will give health insurance without even having to know the person?? How it can be claimed if the person is to go for surgery in private hospitals.. These rules are without head and tails.

I dont understand why you are so uphoric and excited about. Now everytime someone invite their relatives to Kuwait they will have to pay a huge amount for the insurance policy.

What is there to TOURISTS in Kuwait ?
There is no VISIT visa in Kuwait for those other than
1) company sponsored ,
2) hotel sponsored ( stay in hotel is compulsory )
3) wife/son
ALL company sponsored visas are approved ( Mandoop standing in a normal/legal queue ) only if the person is educated to a minimum Bachelor degree

So what are we joking here ? All 3 catogeries people are ready to do it anyways.

Question is that is Medical insurance is done for anybody and everybody ( other than banned country nationalities ) can they enter Kuwait as TOURISTS ?

Another, perfect policy of boosting economy using foreigners and expats.

Good move, with such innovative policies the petrol revenue deserves no importance at all now.
