Kuwait’s most awaited Interstate Champions League (ISCL) which is going to be in action on July 28th and 29th 2016 at the Doha Cricket Grounds – Near Entertainment city Kuwait.
Over the past few years Tennis Cricket in Kuwait has grown tremendously and to such an extent that a private club of Tennis Ball Cricket from Kuwait have participated in GCC and Indian Championship’s. You may have heard the name of KUWAIT RAIDERS. Yes, this the team that participated in Gulf Premiere League and Udupi Premiere League, although success was limited but the never give up attitude of the Individuals behind making it possible have come up with yet another concept giving cricket loving expats from India in Kuwait who dedicate their Fridays religiously playing cricket in Kuwait.
Kuwait Indian Tennis Cricket Association (KITCA) an association formed by a few cricket enthusiasts to promote tennis cricket in Kuwait . After the success of Emerging Teams Cup – 2015 , KITCA have come together to organize this new conceptualized cricket tournament named “INTER-STATE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE” which will bring together players and showcase skills of talented players in Hard Tennis ball cricket in Kuwait.
Inter-state Champions League is built on a similar format to IPL, but the tournaments focus is only on Indian Players. The Franchises or Teams that have been owned for now are from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala & Gujarat. As a thumb-rule, minimum 7 players in the State owned franchise have to belong to the same state as the State Team and 4 players from different state provided their state team is not part of the tournament. This gives the tournament a unique kick and will show case talents of Individual skills in addition to Mix-and-Match quality within the players.
The tournament has a total of 9 franchises registered and these teams will be divided in 2 different pools. Top 2 teams from each pool will qualify for the Semi-Finals. To add a twist, the top 2 teams from both pools will enter into an open draw system to decide their Semi-Final Opponent. Matches will be played of 8 Overs each throughout the tournament.
The Tournament will commence on 28th July 2016 7pm onwards until midnight and will continue on 29th July 2016 5:00 am onwards @ Doha Cricket Ground’s, near entertainment city.
