KNPC clarifies reports about killing of sniffer dogs

Agencies Tuesday, June 21, 2016

The Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) said on Tuesday it has no links to reported "execution" of sniffer dogs that were supposed to be used by the company according to deal with a local contractor.

The KNPC official spokesman Khaled Al-Asousi expressed regret in a statement to KUNA that the contractor put the animals to death. His action has nothing to do with the company for the contract with him has been repealed due to the latter's failure to meet certain security standards, as stipulated by the contract.

The signed contract stipulates that a third party will examine the dogs' ability to uncover explosives at oil installations. The third party has tested the dogs after concealing explosives in some vehicles. But the dogs have failed to detect the explosives, prompting the company to end the contract.

Earlier the photographs of killing of 25 to 30 dogs went viral on social media. Social Media reported that the security company killed large number of sniffer dogs after the company lost contract.

how unfortunate to have such heartless humans around us..!!
End of contract means end of life for the poor animals.. he cud have sold them..
what if the boss of the security company end his marriage contract with his wife? I wont be surprised if he decides to kill his kids and wife in that scenario..

Killing of dogs is condemnable and utter disregard for life. They could have put those dogs up for sale and made money out of it. or given them off to animal shelter. What a sick mentality to not respect life. Is government going to take this killing as a crime book the culprits involved in this murder !

Killing of innocent dogs is really cruel. Instead of killing them, they could have sold them in the local market. I am sure there would be lot of people in Kuwait to buy those dogs.

I am not sure if local laws can punish the culprits for their gruesome act.

Whatever it may be.... who ever killed the dogs will burn in hell. God created dogs n all other animals on the earth . Nobody has the right to kill...anyways one day they will have to answer god for killing these innocent lives.
