Pavendar Kazhagam, Kuwait organized a special literary programme “KODAIYILE KURAL VIZHA” in a grand manner. The function was held at Fintas Wedding Hall on 27.05.2016. “Kuralarasi” Selvi.Padmapriya from our motherland was the special guest.
The event was begun by 6.00 p.m. by lighting of kuthuvilakku by, Mrs. Gomathy Avudaiappan (Executive Committee Member), Mrs. Bharathi Tamizhnadan, Mrs. Kavitha Ramraj, Mrs. Gandhimathy & Mrs. Kayalvizhi Balu.
Mrs. Umadevi Raveendran (Treasurer) anchored the event beautifully with zest and zeal.
The first event “Thamizh Thai Vazhthu” was sung by Mrs. Sudha (Executive Committee Member), Mrs. Thamaraiselvi, Mrs. Kavi Priya, Mrs. Kayalvizhi, Mrs. Umadevi and by Mrs. Gomathy. The secretary of PVKK Mr. Pazha. Krishnamoorthy, after delivering the welcome address, PVKK Kalappaadal was sung by Selvi. Muthulakshmi.
PVKK poet Mr. Sivamani recite a beautiful poem on the topic “Thamizhe Thavam, Kaviye Varam”. Kids of our PVKK Members Sharon Balaji, Viswesh Balaji, Nikishasri, Nitin Krish, Mithun Madhava & Naveen Surya shake their legs for a peppy Tamil numbers. And Selvi. Muthulakshmi rendered a beautiful classical dance.
Next, the special guest Selvi.Padmapriya was introduced to the audience by former president & poet Mr.S.Ravanan. Selvi.Padmapriya was honored by Mrs.PriyaKannan (Public Relations Secretary), Mrs. Gandhimathy was honored by Mrs.Kodhainayagi & Mr. Muruganandam was honored by former President Mr.B.Sekar.
Next, PVKK got privileged by awarding 2014 -2015 year’s Pavendhar Bharathidasan Award to Selvi.Padmapriya. The award comprises a Shield which was given by Mr. Muruganandam and a Cash prize of Rs.25,000 which was awarded by Mr.M.Abuthahir(President), Thiru.Pazha.Krishnamoorthy & by Mrs. Umadevi Raveendran.
Then main event began with a lot of support and cheers from the audience. Selvi.Padmapriya enthralled the audience with her tremendous and marvelous speech. Yes! Around 90 minutes the audience were confined to their seats by her extraordinary speech on the topic “Valluvam Vaguppalla, Vazhkkai”.
PVKK did honor to all the sponsors of this function. Then, Mr. Sethumadhavan, Mr. TamilNadan, Mr. Natarajan, Mr. Vasu Ramanathan, Mrs. Dhatchayani, & Mr. Venkatesan gave the felicitation address.
Mr.K.Natarajan (Vice President) after delivering the vote of thanks, a lucky draw was organized by Supreme Travels & Cargo, and three lucky members were drawn on the podium. Those 3 were gifted with a Mixer grinder as first prize, Microwave oven as second prize and a Handbag as third prize. Then the banquet was provided to all & the special programme successfully concluded with National Anthem.
