Security forces arrested 20 female and male beggars in various areas around Kuwait, the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) security media and relations department announced yesterday. This include three Indians who were arrested for begging.

Authorities explained that the suspects were arrested while wandering and begging in crowded places and outside mosques, and that various sums of money they had collected was found with them.

Legal measures are currently being taken against both the beggars and their sponsors, noting that some had been already deported and banned from returning to Kuwait and that others were referred to juvenile police pending further measures.
