Dancing Divas Mesmerized the audience with ‘Jhoomte Sitare’

Come the month of June in any year, the expectations of a grand evening are up in the air among many members of Indian community living in Kuwait. The preparations that go on before the grand evening of annual event of The Dancing Divas founded by the erstwhile and the famous choreographer Mrs. Jyoti Patel. Her name tingles excitement, love, affection and users in sweet memories for all the children past and present who have undergone training under her. This years’ evening was no exception – lived up to the high expectations of the audience and the children alike.

The evening opened with arrival of Chief Guest, Shri Shubashis Goldar, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of India, Kuwait. The audience have already filled the auditorium of The Cambridge School in Mangaf, with bright colored dresses amidst laughter, merriment and enjoyment. The MC Mrs Rachana Nilesh welcomed the gathering, distinguished guests, patrons, sponsors and audiences and participants. The national anthems of Kuwait and India were played at the beginning to the rapt attention of the audience.

The traditional lighting of the lamp ushering in joy and light into our lives as per our Indian tradition was carried out by the Chief Guest Shri Shubashis Goldar, Charge d’Affaires, Embassy of India, Kuwait, Principal of SIMS Mr. Anis Ahmed, respected personality Mrs. Snehlata Goel and Mrs. Jyoti Patel. The dignitaries along with a host of elite of Indian community were invited to the center stage and presented with bouquets. Shri Shubashis Goldar formally released the Souvenir containing articles from students of The Dancing Divas and their parents as well along with a long list of ads from the sponsors who ever willingly lent their support to the grand program. The dignitaries in their speeches showered praises on Mrs. Jyoti Patel for bringing in joy and colorfulness in the lives of the children and mothers alike, upholding the Indian culture and tradition.

The grand evening began with a classical Bharathnatyam performance by senior student Pooja Varshini. Then came the number “Shree Ganesha” from Hrithik Roshan’s mega hit Agneepath, The song reverberated through the auditorium as it was played through an excellent audio against a backdrop of equally visual effects on a specially mounted screen as the children danced away with excitement and rhythm. At the end of the song the human chariot was received with thunderous applaud and excitement by the audience.

The compere then invited on to the stage amidst thunderous applause Sanam Johar the young Indian choreographer and winner of the first unique TV show Dare 2 Dance. He performed on “O O Jane Jana” in his signature, characteristic style. He ended up with singing some of his favorite numbers.

The items of the agenda encompassed performances by tiny tots, girls and boys and the moms .

Then the compere invited the talented singer Toshi Sabri who needs no introduction as he is now a famous Bollywood singer, music composer and known as the youngest music director. The compere showered accolades on him as he arrived on the stage amidst thunderous applause. He rendered some of his soulful songs as audience clapped rhythmically to the tune. He ended up singing a medley of old Hindi classic number.

The most eagerly awaited moment then arrived when the compere invited on the stage amidst thunderous applause and excitement the very talented and famous choreographer and actress Shakti Mohan. She arrived on to the stage with a thunderous performance and then accompanied by a number of The Dancing Divas students. She was an immediate hit among the audience when she invited some members of the audience as well on to the stage as she performed to some fast numbers. The highlight was when Jyoti Patel also came onto the stage to dance along with her.

The second phase comprised of a fusion of current and famous Bollywood number with glittering cloth of the children and captivating synchronization with brilliant choreography by Jyoti Patel. The special flavor was added when Sanam Johar accompanied the children which could not stop the audience applauding. A duet by outgoing students Pulakit and Ashley also glued the audience.

The Performance of Sanam on the song “Mai teri chunariya laharaye”, dedicating to the Mothers of the world filled the auditorium with emotions.

The grand finale on Bande Mataram, a tribute to India, brought the whole participants to the stage along with the guest artists; brought the evening to an end. The sense of utter satisfaction among the participants, parents, audience and sponsors was evident in the air.

The evening was a grand success and left the audience spellbound and asking for more.

The eagerly awaited 9th Jubiliation of The Dancing Divas in the year 2017 is now eagerly awaited.

Ms. Jyothi Patel and her dancers have been giving good performances always.
