Salmiya Indian Model School  Organized 2nd Parents & Teachers Badminton Tournament

SALMIYA INDIAN MODEL SCHOOL (SIMS) organized 2nd Parents and Teachers badminton Tournament from 2nd June to 4th June 2016. A three day event was full of enthusiasm and vigor.

The response from the parents was very good compared to last year. Parents and Teachers have been excited about this event as it helps in building inter personal relationship. They also get an opportunity to have informal discussions about School and Kids. This year total participants were around 40 in different categories.

The matches were held for men singles and doubles, women singles and doubles and Mixed doubles where only spouses were allowed.

The kids of these parents and Teachers were most excited to see their parents playing. They formed the cheering squads.

The finals were played on Saturday 4th June 2016 between 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mr Sunoj Nambiar from IndiansinKuwait.com graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Anis Ahmad the Director SIMS and Mrs. Elizabeth Joseph Principal SIMS also graced the occasion. Mr. Sunil Jindal one of the parents was the Chief Coordinator of this great Annual Event .

Mrs. Geeta Redu the HOD (Sports-SIMS) and Dr. Shyam the Physical Education Teacher worked hard to make the event a great success.

The matches played were very competitive and none of the matches were one sided. Some of the players looked professionals in their approach.

Mr. Somesh Paul and Mr. Supreeth K.S. emerged as the best players among men and Mrs. Annie George and Mrs. Geeta Redu among women.

The results are as follows:

Men Singles:

Mr. Somesh paul—Winner

Mr. Supreeth K.S. – Runner up

Women Singles:

Mrs. Annie George- Winner

Mrs. Geeta Redu- Runner up

Men Doubles:

Mr. Supreeth K.S. and Mr. Somesh Paul- Winners

Mr. Joseph Kennedy and Dr. Shyam- Runners up

Women doubles:

Mrs. Annie George and J.Valentine –Winners

Mrs. Madhura H.S and Mrs. Leena Somesh –Runners up

Mixed Doubles:

Mr. Saju Varghese and Mrs. Annie George – Winners

Mr. Salil Mehta and Mrs. Neha Mehta – Runners up

All is well that ends well and this 2nd SIMS parents and Teachers badminton Tournament ended well and was a grand success. The parents and teachers had a gala time for three evenings starting from Thursday till Saturday. Many walked back home with prizes as Winners and Runners up.
