The car was launched in an astonishing ceremony in the exclusive Geely Showroom on 31st May 2016 in the presence of Kaico management team, leading journalists and many other guests.

The Geely’s flagship brand the all new Emgrand GT has recently won the “2016 China car of the Year Award” after a tough competition judged by automotive experts, automotive journalists, CEOs and Chairmen of major automotive companies and this is the first time that a domestic car has received this Title and the Jury were fascinated by the Emgrand GT’s modern design and advanced technology.

The launch of Geely’s flagship Emgrand GT sedan in GCC and Kuwait particularly will take the brand into a completely new dimension, it will be the start of a great success.

Remarkable influence of VOLVO

Geely International Corporation acquired VOLVO Cars in 2010 and the Emgrand GT is an obvious example of how the company expertise has increased since this partnership. In 2012 Volvo and Geely signed Technology transfer agreement.

The GT was designed by the Volvo designer Peter Hurbory, who headed up design at Volvo in the 1990s and oversaw it for Volvo, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Ford’s other brands from 2002, is now in charge of Geely’s new wave of world class product.

The Emgrand GT is a four-door ‘fastback’ sedan, sports coupe style, with an aggressive profile, giving an elegant and solid stance. The distinctive side shoulder line arches over the front wheel and then sweeps cleanly around the vehicle’s length, combining a sense of speed with character and elegance. Engine

The Geely Emgrand GT is a front wheel drive car that is great value for money with excellent cost of ownership. The GT is powered by either a 2.4 liter or a 3.5 liter engine. The 3.5 liter engine produces a whopping 270 BHP and the 2.4 liter engine produces 160 HP. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This is good enough to propel the car from 0-100 in 8.8 seconds.

Safety Features

The new Emgrand GT is packed with safety technology that includes ABS, EBD, ESP, Traction Control, EBA, Blind Spot Monitor, Autohold, Visual Parking System etc. It will brake automatically if you get too close to obstacles or traffic in front of you. It will also alert you if you attempt to switch lanes with someone in your blind spot. The most significant feature of Emgrand GT are the Semi Automatic Parking System that steers the car automatically to a vacant parking lot with the driver controlling just the brakes and the 270 degree view around the car.
