The U-14 boys’ badminton team of the Indian Community School Kuwait emerged victoriuous in the recently concluded 18th CBSE Kuwait Cluster Badminton Tournament 2016. The team comprised Adnan Jeff, Aidan Anesh Mathew, Delwin Menezes and Abhishek Daniel Joseph. Indian Central School team was the runner-up in this category.

Further, ICSK was the host for this event which was conducted on 11th and 12th May, 2016. The impeccably organised event saw the participation of teams from 11 CBSE schools of Kuwait. The teams vied for top positions competing in U-19, U-17, U-14 and U-11 categories. The eager participants were the stars of the event.

Principal of ICSK Dr. V. Binumon welcomed all the teams and their Physical Education teachers to the venue. Principal of Indian Learner’s Own Academy and Kuwait Chapter convener Mrs. Asha Sharma graced the event as the chief guest. In her address, she congratulated all the participants and advised the winners to compete and succeed at the National level. Head of the Physical Education Department of ICSK Mrs. S. Rajam concluded the programme with a vote of thanks.

In other results, U-11 Boys team from Carmel School Kuwait was the winner and Indian English Academy School was the runner-up. In U-17 category Indian Central School Kuwait won the tournament and Indian Educational School came second. FAIPS bagged the trophy in U-19 category defeating Indian Educational School Kuwait.

All the winners and runners-up were felicitated. Commendably, the umpires were also honoured with mementos. As always, ICSK played the perfect host for an event that was marked with excellent matches and true display of sportsman spirit.
