The General Traffic Department (GTD) conducted a series of surprise traffic campaigns in the six governorates from May 15-21, 2016 and registered 45,965 traffic violations. The campaign also resulted in impounding of 1,796 vehicles and 11 motorcycles. 69 individuals were referred to traffic police for committing serious traffic violations.
According to a press statement from the Public Relations and Media Security in the Ministry of Interior, eight individuals were referred to the Deportation Center for driving without a license.
Traffic department urged road users to fully abide by the traffic rules and regulations to guarantee the safety of everyone.
