25th Martyrdom Day of former Indian Prime Minister  Rajiv Gandhi observed

A cross section of the Indian community in Kuwait observed the 25th death anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and paid rich tributes to the assassinated leader at a solemn event organized on May 21, 2016 by the Rajiv Gandhi Awards Committee (RGAC).

Abraham David, CEO of Air India GSA House of Travel inaugurated the event by lighting the traditional lamp.

Speakers on the occasion included prominent Indians Dr. Roy, Dr. Jitender Ariga, Dr. Prashant Singh and Jacob Channapetta.

Well known educationist Advocate John Thomas administered the Anti Terrorism Pledge taken on the occasion which exhorts all participants to “work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, creed, religion or language and to resolve all differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.”

Speaking on the occasion RGAC Chairman Markos Williams quoted Rajiv Gandhi who said “The prism of geography may color our peoples differently. But in the white light, we are one humanity”.

At the conclusion of the event all participants paid floral tributes to the departed leader.
