Soorya Fest – A Delighted Performance

In association with Kuwait National Exchange Co., Soorya Kuwait Chapter staged a distinct performance, at the Indian Community School Senior School Auditorium, Salmiya that enthralled the audience.

Jiji Jose Philip, Operations Manager, Kuwait National Exchange Co., inaugurated the festival by the traditional lamplighting, along with B.S. Pillai, General Secretary, Soorya Kuwait Chapter.

Thereafter a duet performance “Krishnamayam” staged by Pallippuram Sunil in Kathakali and Paris Laxmi in Bharatanatyam was a special treat to all art lovers present there.

Usually Kathakali and Bharatanatyam are performed simultaneously on stage due to its different styles, theatrical expressions and costumes. But Sunl and Laxmi decided to challenge themselves with the creation of an unexpected duet, which mesmerized the audience. In Krishnamayam, Pallipuram was Sri Krishna and Paris Laxmi was Radha, Draupadi, Kuchela, the Gopis and Arjuna and they excellently demonstrated each character.

Soorya India, led by versatile mastermind Soorya Krishnamurthy, is present in more than 36 countries. It has been propagating the art of India’s outside the country for the last 18 years with active support of its Chief Patron Dr. B.R. Shetty, Managing Director, NMC Group of Companies.
