Expat families in private residences will not be evicted

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Expat families residing in private residence areas would not be evicted provided no violations such as overcrowding or disturbance are registered, Al Rai Arabic news paper reported quoting Kuwait Municipality Director Ahmed AlManfouhi.

According to report, violations also include families sharing the same unit and construction-related ones. Manfouhi warned all bachelors residing in private residence areas to willingly leave before being evicted.

I wonder who designs the buildings, must be an idiot of an architect or none at all. apartments are disgustingly designed with no proper space and ventilation. Real estate companies could make a fortune if they rationalized their greed and provide an affordable housing, families stuffed with one another would love to have a space of thier own. Most of these towers are lying empty.. revenue lost in time .. such is the wastage here. An irony for a desert country.

The analysis of Mr Azad is excellent, and very true, all these associations are behind the expats to collect donations, organize an event and make money. Nothing is done for the helpless expats, who are in need. As rightly said by Mr Mario, the back is broken due to huge hike in rents. Many are struggling extra hours to pay rent.

It is similar to certain indian rules. In our cities, traffic departments will not allow park vehicles in many places and they do not provide alternate places to park also. They are not bothered whether you park your vehicle on your head or not, but do not park on road.

I stay alone in a 2bedroom apt not because i can afford it but because i want it. Families Sharing apartments have been going on way back from the early 80s. As long as both parties are living in harmony. Nowadays the rents are so high and salaries so low that one is forced to share. To top it off, the rooms are even smaller and the harass are another pain who demand money from people to book a flat.
Mr. tenant how would you have loved to be kicked out of your apartment and sent to far off place in the desert. Be a human being, even animals care for their kind.

@mr. Tenant.. well u seem to be a rich and senceless person who thinks the fight for survival of less fortunate ones are a joke.. well atleast get ur facts right.. rent isnt shooting up bcoz of the number of families residing in an apartment and the actual reason works the other way around... more and more families are taking up sharing accomodation becos they cannot afford the GREED OF kuwaitis who keep increasing the rent every few months which is forced upon helpless expats.. we have 1000s of associations for indians of different states, district, sports, politics language, religion, caste, subcaste and many other variants of associations but NOT ONE association to speak for us.. we have extreme rent hike issue, parking issues, cleanliness issue, drainage issues and wat all in expat residential areas but yea.. the socio-religio-political associations are purely money making channels as their only agenda here is "conducting events and bringing celebrities or politicians" and raising funds for those reasons.. incredible expats..!!

Good move, please evict sharing families in commercial areas also. Because of them and sharing bachelors, rent is shooting up. One single bedroom is shared by two families or four bachelors, two bedroom is shared by three families or six bachelors.
