Warning to ‘bachelors’ living in residential areas

Tuesday, May 17, 2016

Hawally municipality director Falah Al Shemmari warned that ‘bachelors’ living in residential areas in the governorate would be immediately evicted unless they are living in the same address mentioned in their civil IDs.

Speaking during a three-hour tour of the governorate’s areas, Shemmari said solving the problem of bachelors would be achieved by building special areas for them away from residential areas, such as Amghara and Subhan.

He added that in collaboration with MoI and MEW, power would be disconnected in houses inhabited by bachelors in residential areas. He also noted that bachelors were mostly found in Salmiya and Rumaithiya and promised to hold a weekly tour on Tuesdays to detect violations and solve problems.

Amghara is being redeveloped as a residential area.

who can make money from this situation?

what about unmarried women? are they supposed to leave the residential areas??

in US and UK citizens make 'temporary' marriage to get green card. this will inspire another industry to sell marriage certificates to single expats.
and those with certificates need not stay in expat residences... excellent!

thank you
come again

I believe something logicial and humanely should be worked out if the authorities wish to get over this subject.

30 Years plus have gone on this subject: A city for Bachelors - but time proved - all talks and no action.
Evicting bachelors or cutting electricity is simply a reaction and not a solution.
Sabhan and Amghara are industrial
areas In fact Bachelors were evicted from Sabhan and Amghara too some time back as many were found to be working and as well living in shops, garages, and small industries and for carrying out illegal activities.

Can Kuwaiti Govt. clarify bachelor status? Many women expats particularly Teachers and Nurses come to Kuwait as bachelors even though they are married and provided accommodation in flats by the sponsoring school or hospital. Are these category of women expats Bachelors?

Skyrocketing rents, extream heat and some of them may not be getting their salaries on time, bachelors will be in a miserable condition (so sad).

First Govt. take action for make all buildings are legal. Because almost buildings for bachelors have no proper documents and they will not get proper paper for civil id from that building owner. Then how they will put same address of living in their civil id?
