Air India Express to introduce two additional flights to Kozhikode from June 1st

Air India Express will run two additional flights to Kozhikode from Kuwait starting from June 1st, 2016. According to the new schedule, the additional flights will operate on Tuesday and Thursday from Kuwait.

The new service on Tuesday and Thursday will depart Kuwait International Airport at 02:50 am and reaches Kozhikode on 09:50 am.

Apart from this, Air India Express operates weekly three flights to Kozhikode on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 15:10 and weekly three flights to Mangalore on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:55 from Kuwait.

for eg,

Kuwait-Mangalore-Kozhikode

this route is profitable for Air India Express.

I think the flight companies getting major profit from Calicut airport passengers from India per ticket.. Anyone can shed light on logic of price difference between Calicut and Kochi airport.
I was a traveller last month-
Kwt-Cochin rate was 55 KD.
kwt-Calcut rate was 90 KD.
That's why 30-40 percentage of Malabar people choose Kochi.

This additional flight is not much benefited to calicut passengers as Tuesday and Thursday already flying Express. If you are arranging additional flight you have to operate on other days viz Friday, Saturday, Monday & Wednesday etc.

Flying two flights to same sector will not be profitable as well. If operating on saturday from calicut would be much useful to passengers to utilize their weekend as well.

Why not a flight to Vizag? As such flights are only for hyderabad. Total andhraites have to go to hyderabad for international flights. Please consider a flight to Vizag. It will help many

Because it is Air Kerala Express. Always they will give first preference to their state only.
Trichy is the best profitable root and they are not considering (Only depending Srilankan Airlines). If required they may cancel Trichy-Dubai root and divert to their state.

WHY NO FLIGHT TO TRICHY AS IT WAS RUNNING INDIAN AIRLINES ON WEEKLY TWO DAYS TUESDAY'S AND SATURDAY'S. AT LEAST ONE FLIGHT WEEKLY WE ARE EXPECTING FROM THIS YEAR. AIRWAYS MINISTER'S MUST CONSIDER TRICHY AS IT IS A INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AND NOT A DOMAESTIC AIRPORT SINCE BEFORE OTHER AIRPORTS IN THE REGION.

Air-India Express needs to keep other easterner zones in mind too. What about few flights from Kuwait to Kolkata-Katmandu per week? Many passengers are going to those destinations via Dubai /Sharjah/Doha/Abu Dhabi. Gulf routes are most profitable for any airlines and it is being exploited by other airlines. It is high time our national career gets the fair share of this lucrative market

What have we Mangaloreans done? Only flights to Kerala all the time. And the one and only Air India timings are terrible a whole day is lost. the timings were good when the flight used to go to calicut via Mangalore!!!
