ICSK Celebrates 57th Foundation Day with Vidyaratna Award Competitions

ICSK gloriously conducted the First Vidyaratna Rolling Trophy Debate & Elocution Competitions on 3rd May, 2016 at ICSK Khaitan with the participation of ten Indian Schools of Kuwait to commemorate its 57th Foundation Day. The eminent and accomplished judges invited to adjudge these mega competitions were Dr. Navniit Gandhi, professor and well known writer, Mrs. Chaitali Banerjee Roy, a renowned media personality and author and Mr. Satishkumar, a well-known Toast Master and multifaceted personality..

The sparkling competitions embarked with extempore elocution competition where ten contestants of 7th and 8th standard representing individual schools spoke eloquently on various topics opening the world of imagination and reality. With a prior preparation of only ten minutes, students showed great wit and style of speech as they talked proficiently on the given subjects and made the competition tough as well as interesting.

After the round of elocution, the igniting debate session began where again ten teams personifying various Indian Schools aggressively debated in favour and against the motion ‘Have too many channels, including social media, brought people closer?” Mrs. Reyana Mahesh, a well-known stage anchor, played a key role as a moderator for debate. Students rationally performed their assignments, which was absolutely venturesome as the debaters were flaring vibrantly to prove the side they argued for.

The first, second and third prizes in the elocution competition were won by Efrem Joseph Charls from ICSK Amman, Clarin Menezes from Indian Central School and Dwiti Ponda of FAIPS respectively.

The first, second and third individual prize winners of debate competition were Aishwarya Shaji from FAIPS, Jaidev Shriram again from FAIPS and Sudarshan Ratnakumar of The Indian Central School respectively.

The tiny tots of ICSK Khaitan presented a Rajasthani style dance to welcome all, and the school choir rendered ‘Khushiyan hi khushiyan ho’ in joyous celebration with a final note of prayer of wishes to beloved ICSK on its 57th Birthday with ‘bar bar din ye gaye…’

Finally, the ICSK VIDYARATNA AWARD, Ever Rolling Trophy was lifted by FAIPS (Delhi Public School) for scoring highest total points from all its contestants among participating schools and the trophy was awarded to the winning team by the judges and ICSK Principals. The management and the entire ICSK fraternity congratulated the winners and appreciated the participants.

Mrs. Sherly Denis, Principal In-charge of ICSK Junior, proposed vote of thanks and expressed gratitude towards judges and participating schools for making the foundation day competitions a grand success. The programme, which had an auspicious beginning with verses from Holy Quran, lighting of ceremonial lamp and singing of Kuwait national anthem, ended with the Indian National Anthem.

wow nice to see the principle is lighting the lamp with teachers. I am sure the cost was very less for this function. The teachers are looking very happy.
