Panel raises prices of water for apartments

Sunday, April 24, 2016

Head of the National Assembly’s financial and economic affairs committee MP Faisal Al-Shaye yesterday said the panel has amended the price of water for investment apartments, where the majority of the expatriates are staying, and it will be debated by the Assembly along with electricity charges.

Under the new amendment, the price of the first 3,000 gallons of water will be KD 2, which increases to KD 3 for the second 3,000 gallons and to KD 4 for consumption above 6,000 gallons.

The new proposed charges apply only to apartments.

A shower, toilet flush is the most common usage in the apartments. Whereas, compared to any other Kuwait nationalities house, which has bath tubs, fancy showers, kids pool, car wash, garden supply, indoor and outdoor fountains. Now ask yourself who uses the water the most. Apartments of expats or single homes of Kuwaitis

Please impose 30% taxes on the salaries on all sectors , but it should be only for the expats. The apartments are still very cheap, one bhk atleast should be 500 and spaces anything above that atleast should be 1000. Food and travel prices are dirt cheap please revise those prices too at the soonest

IF THE WHOLE DAY U R AT WORK AND NO BODY IS HOME HOW CAN THE WATER CONSUMPTION GALON BE CALCULATED WHEN U ARE LEAVING THE APARTMENT AT 7 AM TILL 7PM.

The answer will be they will calculate on your neighbour appartment or the side by portion and charge the whole thing on you....

This is not the good way of treating Expatriates, we are paying for everything and now they wants to pay for water... May be in future they impose PRICE ON AIR also...U r breathing in our country... PAY FOR THAT...

Lets all pack our bags and go home.

No use staying anymore in this country.

Racism is everywhere.

Last two days i went to hospital and they implemented the morning only for Kuwaitis. Evenings from 4-8pm is when expats can see doctors at outpatient. I was waiting for 1 hour from 3:15 to 4:15pm in the queue to get appointment at the counter and the queue was horrible. When my turn came, they stamped another date and said come after the next 3 days to take an appointment. What is the use of a referral from the clinic. They think we don't deserve treatment when we are sick???
Horrible attitude by these locals.

Everyone its high time to pack our bags and go back home which is better for our future! Don't stay and rot here.

Dear JK,
They will install the new meter for each flat separately which will have the record of your consumption.

We do not have seperate water meter for every flat. It is common meter for whole building or society. May be land lord will equally divide the total water bill to each flat.????
