MEW announces power cuts for periodic maintenance

Ministry of Electricity and Water has announced that some areas in the country will witness power cuts at different timings this week starting from Sunday, April 24 due to some periodic maintenance measures that will be carried out on the secondary power transformers located in a number of areas throughout Kuwait.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, the areas that will be affected are Ahmadi, Jabriya, Abu Halifa, Khairan and Fintas. In Ahmadi area, the power cuts will occur from 8 am to 11 am Sunday through Thursday in Blocks 2, 3, 4 and 7 due to work on power transformers 29, 30, 31, 34 and 35.

Maintenance of transformers ‘8’, ‘9’ and ‘Kuwait magic’ in Abu Halifa area will result in power cuts in coastline blocks 1 and 2 from 8 am to 12 pm Sunday through Thursday.

Meanwhile, power cuts will be experienced in Jabriya Blocks A.1, 2, 9, 10 and 7 from 8 am until 12 pm throughout the week due to work on power transformers ‘TT collage’, ‘44’, ‘21’, ‘51’ and ‘107’.

In Khairan, Road 290 will experience power cuts from Sunday until Wednesday due to maintenance work on transformers 34, 35, 36 and 37. In addition, Block 3 of Fintas area will experience power cuts on Thursday.
