Crisis over Indian Community School not to affect academic functioning

The issues related to the Indian community school are temporary and will be solved soon and the current difference between the sponsor and the school management board will not affect the academic side in anyway, people related to the school board informed.

The new crisis started when the school sponsor locked the board room and suspended the management board last Thursday on allegedly over the complaints of financial irregularities and various other misdemeanors in the functioning of the school. According to source, sponsor had formed an investigative committee to investigate various allegations about the school functioning.

However people related to the school said the dispute over the ownership of the land given by the Kuwait Ministry to build new school at Mehboula is the root cause of the issue.

The recent issues will not affect the academic functioning of the school and the students and there is no room for worry for the students and teachers, said school Hon Secretary Vijayan Karayil told IndiansinKuwait.com

Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador Sunil Jain told IndiansinKuwait.com that Embassy's main aim is the welfare of our community and the current issues at ICSK should not affect our children. The current issue should be resolved in the best and most amicable way so to ensure that Indian students are not affected, he added.

ICSK lost its reputation comparing to other good schools in Kuwait. The admission process, needs more clarity. Indian Embassy should tackle this issue.

The Management of Indian community School appointing un-qualified Teachers. The make appointment based on the recommendation. However the old Teachers who are making business by way of taking Tuitions in there home’s. They are not teaching in Classrooms they only just the parent to send for Tuition. The quality of Education is very poor and some of the Teacher's does not the Properly speak English Language they run the show by using Indian language.

We the parents taking care our Children by spending School Fees plus Tuition Fees at the end they cannot able compete with our Indian Village student

Unfortunately no one is bothering about this. Please awake up take care your children don’t bring religion and State Criteria. If you follow the religion and state criteria you are the looser and your children only suffer this

It is high time our Indian Embassy take direct control of all schools affiliated to Indian boards. In my opinion the school owner is like a businessman and should never be allowed to interfere into the school management under any pretext. School owner will get the rent for the property and nothing else.

If Indian Embassy takes control of the schools, all nepotism will stop. I know Indian Embassy might not have enough resources to manage it now. But our embassy can hire people locally under the school payroll to look into the affairs of the school management.

Request all parents to think about this proposal and forward the idea to our Ambassador at the earliest. I am sure it will help all parents and may even help bring down tuition fees. Also, it is to be noted that when our Embassy is involved in any matters, typically,it will not be easy even for property owner to play around.
By the way, my children are all grown up and out of Kuwait. But they used to study in ICS, Salmiya and I am morally attached to the school.

Excellent, more crisis means more hike in fees. Good luck to all parents and students still in the school. Although Ministry has declared strict actions against fee hike, ICSK has increased fees every year. I really dont know on what grounds. Hereafter God help the students studying there. Be ready for further hike since new school project is ongoing. Those who can please quit and move back to India. It is thorough torture studying in ICSK Senior.

Commercialization of education has become high trend at present.
Its an "Educational Business" - huge profits and bank balances = hungry for money thru improper fee hikes and send our children out to beg with Coupons.

All this is taking place for some political reasons,in the past when the Indian embassy was approached on numerous occasions they never came forward for the welfare of the community at large. The answer was always "go and approach the board" for any grievances, strange now the embassy is interferring citing the welfare of the community. I would not be surprised a new board would be reinstated under the embassy's will similar to the way it happened before. The ideal solution for the problem is for the HRD ministry in Delhi to take control of this institution so that justice can be delivered to the community and the students getting benefitted out of it.
